Occupational Therapy

Our Occupational Therapy team helps patients of all ages regain independence in the everyday tasks that matter most—at home, work, school, and in the community.

Inside Our OT Program

What Is OT?

Occupational Therapy holistically treats the individual to optimize their ability to perform the activities that “occupy” their time—such as bathing, dressing, cooking, school and work tasks, and community participation. Our OT provides training in daily activities, functional cognition, health management, and can recommend or fit adaptive equipment to increase safety and independence.

Common Diagnoses We Help

  • Stroke & TBI: one-handed dressing, visual processing, functional cognition, bathroom safety, adaptive equipment, community reintegration.
  • Orthopedic: range of motion recovery, strengthening, scar management, orthoses, return-to-work, fine motor coordination.
  • Neurologic (Parkinson’s, MS, CP): dressing strategies, environmental modifications, energy conservation, caregiver training, sensory reintegration.
  • Autism / Pediatrics: parent education, sensory processing strategies, emotional regulation, school performance, activities of daily living, transition to adulthood.
  • Oncology: energy conservation, ROM/strength after treatment or surgery, functional cognition, health management.

Lymphedema & Home Assessments

Lymphedema: complete decongestive therapy including manual lymph drainage (MLD), compression bandaging, garments, exercise, and skin care.

Home Assessments: our OT evaluates home safety and recommends modifications/adaptive equipment to reduce fall risk and improve independence.
